#1 Kefta Kebabs

Kefta Kebabs

First, we’re going to kickstart our easy Ramadan recipes with an iftar-favorite dish – Kefta Kebabs!

Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

  • 500 g lean ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 1 sprig of fresh coriander
  • 1 sprig of fresh mint
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Steps:

  • Set up your Magimix Food Processor
  • Add the mint and coriander and blend for a few seconds
  • Cut the onion into large chunks and add to the food processor
  • Pulse 5 times
  • Add your ground beef and pulse until well combined
  • Add olive oil and spices
  • Shape the mixture into small meatballs and place them on skewers (about 4 per skewer)
  • Cook them under your oven grill, on the barbecue, or on a large frying pan for 10 mins on high heat
  • Enjoy!

#2 Air-Fryer Beef Sambousek

Air-Fryer Beef Sambousek

For a more healthy take on one of our favorite Ramadan recipes, we have Air-Fryer Beef Sambousek. Bonus: it’s also freezer-friendly!

Prep Time: 15 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 20 mins

Ingredients:

  • Pre-made sambousek dough (time-saver!)
  • 350 g ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp debes el remmen
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Steps:

  • Heat your olive oil in a pan and cook your ground meat until brown
  • Add your diced onion and sautee for around 5 mins
  • Add your spices
  • Drizzle in the debes el remmen
  • Turn off the heat and allow it to cool for easier handling
  • Place 1 tbsp of the meat filling into each samsbousek dough piece and roll to your liking
  • Wet and press the edges for better sealing
  • Brush with a thin layer of vegetable oil
  • Place in your Solac Air-Fryer 
  • Cook for 3 – 5 mins on each side at 180°C
  • And, enjoy!

#3 Carrot Soup

Next, we’ve got one of the easiest Ramadan recipes on the list and an iftar staple – Carrot Soup

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 medium-sized peeled carrots
  • ½  onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

Steps: 

  • Dice your carrots, onion, and garlic into chunks
  • Sautee your vegetables with olive oils until soft
  • Add the chicken stock and allow to reach a boil for 5 mins
  • Bring out your BAMIX immersion blender
  • Blend the mixture right in your pot!
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste!
  • And, serve!

#4 Bechamel Pasta Bake

Bechamel Pasta Bake

Also, we’ve got comfort dish type of Ramadan recipes, a Bechamel pasta bake – aka, Macarona Bechamel. Delicious, simple, and filling! This takes a little more time for baking, but the prep takes less than 30 minutes!

Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 35 mins

Ingredients: 

  • 500 g Penne pasta
  • 700 g ground beef
  • 1 tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 ½ tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Bechamel Sauce

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 L milk (room temperature)
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ black pepper

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 200°C
  • Cook your pasta in boiling water according to package instructions
  • Cook onion with vegetable oil until softened and add meat – cook until browned
  • Add your spices and stir until fragrant and set aside
  • For the Bechamel, melt the butter over medium heat
  • Add flour 1 tbs at a time and whisk continuously
  • Pour milk while stirring continuously
  • Add chicken stock and allow to thicken a bit
  • Mix your pasta with one cup of Bechamel and pour into your Alza baking dish
  • And, serve!

#5 Lebanese Crispy Falafel

Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

  • 500 g canned chickpeas
  • ¾ cup parsley stems removed
  • 1 large onion quartered
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Oil for frying

Steps:

  • Place your strained chickpeas in your Magimix food processor
  • Blend until your reach a grainy, sand-like consistency
  • Add parsley, onion, garlic, salt, cumin, coriander, and black pepper
  • Blend until it turns into a paste, scraping down the sides as needed
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour to set
  • When ready to make, sprinkle with baking powder and mix until incorporated
  • Form falafel balls with 1-2 tbsp of the mixture
  • Fill your Inoxibar frying pan with oil
  • Fry on medium heat for 2-3 mins per side
  • And, enjoy!

#6 Spinach Stew

And then there’s the warm and comforting traditional Lebanese Ramadan recipes – the classic Spinach stew. Serve with a bed of steaming vermicelli Lebanese rice, and you’ve got a delicious iftar meal!

Total Time: 25 mins

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 2 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper divided
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • 5 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 2 bags of frozen spinach
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • Juice of one lemon

Steps:

  • In your Inoxibar casserole, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat and cook your meat until browned
  • Add your spices, salt, and pepper
  • Remove and set aside
  • In the same casserole, add the cilantro, garlic and crushed red pepper, cook for about 2-3 mins until fragrant
  • Add the frozen spinach, remaining salt and cook with the cilantro mixture until softened – about 5 mins
  • Add chicken broth and bring to a boil
  • Return the cooked ground beef
  • Simmer for 20 mins
  • Stir in the lemon juice
  • Serve with a bed of rice!

#7 Lebanese Rice Pudding

Finally, we’ve got a BONUS recipe for you! Iftar is not complete without dessert Ramadan recipes! And so, we’ve got traditional Lebanese Rice Pudding.

Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 25 mins
Total Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup short grain rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 9 cups whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp rose water

Steps:

  • In your large Alza pot, cook the unwashed rice with water until the water is absorbed
  • Add 8 ½ cups of milk along with the sugar and bring to a boil
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and stir frequently – about 15 mins
  • Dissolve the cornstarch in the remaining  ½ cup of milk and add to the pot
  • Add rose water and stir for 10 mins
  • Transfer mixture into 5 – 10 bowls and allow to cool
  • And enjoy your sweet dessert!
